O mankind, there has come to you Instruction from your Lord and Healing for what is in the chests and Guidance and Mercy for the believers.
Suratu Yunus 10:57
Okay, maybe you noticed the catch…
To get all this out of the Quran, you need a little something;
something called…
BELIEF!
Now, how do you get this “belief”?
The answers are many…
but here is one:
Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital. They [are the ones who] believe in it. And whoever disbelieves in it – it is they who are the losers.
Suratu Al-Baqarah 2:121
Do you know what it means to recite with “true recital”?
Ibn Mas’ood is reported to have said,
“By He in Whose Hand is my soul [i.e., By Allah]! The right Tilawah is allowing what it [The Quran] makes lawful, prohibiting what it makes unlawful, reciting it as it was revealed by Allah [to Muhammad ﷺ], not changing the words from their places, and not interpreting it with other than its actual interpretation.” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
In other words…
- You need to recite it as the Prophet ﷺ did, and
- correctly obey the commands in it.
Now, we realized something troubling recently:
most of the world is painfully unaware of what this means…
Especially the first part.
The second part, you can only learn from trustworthy scholars.
If you look, you’ll find them, In Shaa` Allah.
BUT,
the first part is extremely basic!
To recite like the Prophet ﷺ, you need to learn…
TAJWEED
Basically, it’s how you pronounce the Arabic sounds,
without skipping or adding or changing anything.
